tck home // christmas decor

With a little under two weeks left, I have finally put up all of our Christmas decorations. My main focuses were the living room mantle and a few spots in the kids’ rooms. There are a few little DIYs mixed in with our decorations that were a lot of fun to put together. The main attraction will of course be the Christmas village I’m working on so stay tuned for that next week! In the mean time, enjoy this little Christmas decor home tour.

Living Room

Matthew and I got this tree for our first Christmas together 7 years ago We made a bunch of ornaments out of construction paper and we always hit World Market after Christmas to get fun and unique ornaments on clearance.

It’s slowly become the kids’ tree but it brings back so many great memories for the two of us.

It’s been fun (and the tiniest bit stressful) letting the kids help with the decorations but they love being included, it’s worth it.

I normally feel a little twinge of pain whenever I change things with the mantle but I’m really loving this sort of metallic Christmas tree forest up there.

And I like keeping the picture of the Savior walking on water as a reminder of what this season is truly about.

Jack’s Room

My girly and pink-loving brain has a hard time coming up with decorations for Jack’s room but this was pretty easy to put together. I wanted his room to continue with the bottle brush trees but also have a vintage and classic Christmas feel.

Ella’s Room

I wanted Ella’s room to have a light and airy Christmas theme with a lot of pink and gold and the little ballerina Nutcracker was the perfect final touch. I love adding in toys to their Christmas decorations because they bring a fun and childish spirit.

Christmas keeps getting better and better. The kids are understanding and helping more and I feel like Matthew and I have been able to be more deliberate and thoughtful about Christmas this year. From the decorations to including Ella and Jack, to really preparing to celebrate the Savior’s birth. It’s holly and jolly and silent and holy and I’m loving every minute of it. ‘Tis the season, after all.
