Have you ever been told you’re difficult to shop for? Do people normally give you gift cards instead of presents? Have you ever said, “Just forget it,” and gotten gifts for yourself?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, I welcome you. If you said no to these questions, congratulations! You’re a man!
Okay I’m kidding, I’m sure there are plenty of people who don’t take gift giving and receiving as seriously as I do and that’s okay. My husband thinks I’m difficult to shop for because I am so particular but honestly, I think that makes me the easiest person. There are a million things I want at any given time and there’s a good chance half of them are some type of trinket dish. Case in point: see that little bowl with the face on it?
My mother in law was in line at a store and saw this, thought of me, and surprised me with it and I love it. See? I’m that easy to please! In fact, almost every trinket on this desk was a gift and they’re proudly displayed.
I understand everyone isn’t obsessed with trinkets and doesn’t keep a running list of things they would like so if you don’t know what you want or what to give a mom in your life, I’ve got you covered and curated for this Mother’s Day.
Fill one of these custom photo books with a favorite trip, your favorite pictures of her, or her favorites of the kids.
There are so many options to choose from on Shutterfly. My personal favorites are art prints, phone cases, and magnets.
I think this is such a cute idea! You just upload a photo of your child’s profile and Minted does the rest.
One easy but impactful idea is to gift a journal with a personal note written inside. You can keep the tradition up by adding a note every Mother’s Day. You can also add pictures to give it an extra personal touch.
I love this ring! So personal and delicate. I’ll link the name ring here as well.
My favorite shops for bracelets are Anthropologie and J Crew.
Statement Necklaces
My picks for statement necklaces are J Crew and Kate Spade.
For the mom with the glam green thumb.
Minted has a great motherhood painting here and the picture above is by my friend and an excellent artist Ellie. Check her out on Instagram.
I love doing these- you can pick a song significant to you as a couple or family, or her favorite song. You could also do favorite quotations, inspirational messages about being a mom, or a personal note written by you.
Kate Spade is fun and feminine and just feels special to have. They have great purses, wallets, and jewelry.
The best flats and boots. There’s just something about riding boots to make a girl feel strong. They also have great purses and weekender bags.
Have you seen these before? They look and feel fancy but are actually really affordable. They make for great selfies (for the influencer or mommy blogger in your life) and you don’t have to stress if one of your kids steal them.
This might just be me but I love trinkets. Little dishes and decorative bowls, Eiffel Tower figurines and miniature globes are so sweet and feminine and delicate. And they look beautiful on dressers and used in tablescapes. Multipurpose!
My favorite place to find trinkets are Anthropologie, World Market, and West Elm.
My two favorite crossbody bags are from Tory Burch and Kate Spade and they’re perfect to have the little things you need for yourself or your kids in a given moment.
Those are my picks! If you still need some direction, my general guidelines for Mother’s Day are find something feminine or something that specifically pays tribute to motherhood and whatever you get can be as useful or decorative as the mom in your life enjoys. Let me know what you end up getting/receiving this Mother’s Day!
