tck home // christmas decor home tour

I am so excited to share our Christmas decor! I have been looking forward to decorating for Christmas since we first moved into our new house back in May. I’ve started doing slightly different themes each year– last year I had a metallic forest going on our mantle.

This year, I was really inspired by the tree scraps we picked up when we got our tree. Oh yeah, this is our first year having a real tree! I grew up always having a real Christmas tree and while I love the little fake tree Matthew and I purchased our first year of marriage, this is the moment I’ve been waiting for.

I have been imagining putting a tree in front of this window for months and I love pulling into our driveway and seeing the glittering lights.

When we got it, they were giving away free tree scraps and Matthew actually encouraged me to grab some and I’m so glad he did. They have created this natural and organic look to our decor that I just love.

They inspired me to make our Christmas decor very nature inspired– deer, trees, wood, and a lot of different textures.

This mirror was my birthday present and I have wanted it forever mostly because I knew decorating around it would be amazing. Fireplace mantles are one of my favorite spots to design and it’s the perfect centerpiece

The entryway surprisingly turned out to be one of the most heavily decorated spaces.

I had only just purchased a wreath in November and I didn’t want to get another one. So to make our fall wreath work, I changed out the pink velvet ribbon for green and added this bells (my new obsession that you’ve seen in another spot in our home!)

This tree shelf is so special to me because my father-in-law built it and we’ve never been able to use it until now. And I’m glad that I got to use decor left over from Ella’s nutcracker birthday party.

I really loved combining gold, green, and natural wood. It’s simple but lush at the same time. And of course my bottle brush tree obsession is alive and well.

And for a fun little bit of whimsy, I brought back the Christmas Village.

It has been so much fun having all this festive decor up. I only ever want to be in the living room, the twinkling lights of the tree always in my periphery. This is such a wonderful time of year for a lot of reasons but getting to be creative and put my own spin on Christmas cheer has been an unexpected delight.

Merry Christmas!
