I love back to school shopping! Way more than actually going back to school, if I’m honest. One of my favorite things to search for is the perfect First Day of School outfit.
I love taking First Day of School pictures so I can see how much my kids have grown at the end of the year. Here are some perfect outfits for boys and girls for learning, playing, and posing for a million picures with mom 🙂
For Ella, I like to style a playful first day of school outfit that suits her personality, that’s nice-ish without being distracting and that she can easily run around in. Girly doesn’t have to be fancy or uncomfortable! Here she is throughout her first school years:

Jack has only had one first day of school but my number one concern when styling outfits for him is that they aren’t over-styled or feminine. I like classics like polo shirts and henleys or tees with a cool print for the first day of school outfit. Here he is on his first day last year- it was the day before I gave birth to Caroline so it was a super emotional week!
