tck party // spooky cute birthday party

Spooktacular Spooktacular! Ella turned 7 earlier this month and we celebrated with a spooky cute birthday bash. Keep scrolling for all the pictures and details!

First things first, let’s talk about the birthday girl. Ella wanted to do a costume party and when she told me she wanted her costume to be “halloween superhero princess,” I knew I’d have to make something special for her.

The party decor was a mix between spooky cute and spooky glam. Think of it as a whimsical haunted house!

One way to tackle a big party like this is to have stations. We did a craft and tablescape, photo booth, a couple games, a sweets table, and a balloon installation. Stations keep the party moving and give you designated areas to decorate.

I was excited to make this tablescape because I had so many cute Halloween plates! I found these at my favorite party supply shop, Ellie and Piper. For the craft, the kids got to decorate wood cat heads I found on clearance at Michael’s.

Photo booths are great because they’re really fun without a ton of effort. I found this cute backdrop and added a garland and balloons. Ella coined the term “photo boo” and I love that she loves puns just as much as I do.

For games, we did Pin the Tail on the Cat and I made DIY witch broomsticks for a wicked relay race.

The sweets table doubled as the party favor. I found great spooky treats at Target and spent a few weeks collecting gum ball machines from the dollar spot. I got the most amazing and detailed cookies from some pretty talented small shops. The table didn’t need much decoration so I focused on the wall above it. How beautiful is that backdrop?! You can grab it here and use code GFFRIENDS for 10% off!

There was a lot of decor in the party room but I wanted there to be a main focal point. I’ve called this the “showstopper” over the years and the balloon installation was just that. I’m not great at putting balloon garlands together so I thought it would be fun to have a sort of deconstructed balloon garland with other elements. A lot of DIYs, like the paper lanterns that I transformed into a cauldron, ghost, pumpkin, and skull, rounded out the spooky cute ceiling. Of course, I did end up adding a traditional balloon garland but this one was so easy to put together! I love how it turned out! Can’t recommend this shop enough.

Head to Ellie and Piper for these fun seasonal balloons!

So much love and creativity went into this party but that’s honestly the best combination for hosting a beautiful event. All the little details and party supplies are fun but the most important thing to bring to a party is your heart. Thank you for letting me share mine!
