happy new year!

I hope it’s been a great first week of the year for all of you! 2022 is going to be a wonderful year for creating, decorating, and celebrating. The Curated Kids grew a lot in 2021 and I’m excited for what the future holds. I wanted to share some of my favorite pictures and projects from 2021 and introduce (or reintroduce- thanks to the OGs for always coming back!) what The Curated Kids is all about.

The Curated Kids started as a personal project to make motherhood more sustainable and fun. I was home alone with two kids- how come no one talks about how insane the transition from 1 to 2 kids is?! I felt overwhelmed all the time while they seemed to be having the best time. It struck me that motherhood is the closest thing to childhood yet so far away. I wanted to join the magic of childhood and The Curated Kids is how I do it. So I started sharing and writing some of the things I already liked to do: Sunday best outfits, diys for their birthday parties, and the little trinkets filling up their rooms. Over the years, as I’ve grown in confidence and joy, I’ve been able to share in more of the magic and whimsy that so naturally fills childhood. That’s the gift you receive when you take what’s important to you and make it a priority.

What I hope to share with all of you is how developing your creativity and letting it flourish in your home and with your family can transform you. For me, a Sunday best outfit isn’t just an outfit, a party isn’t just a party, and those trinkets are way more than random objects scattered throughout my house. They are ways to share who I am, to feel understood and represented. That “home alone with my kids” feeling doesn’t have the power it once did because I feel more at home in these curated spaces that reflect the best pieces of my life. The poise of my mother, the lightheartedness of play, the love of pink I immediately discovered after the birth of my first daughter. The list goes on. Curating a lifestyle has helped me to create a more fulfilling motherhood experience and that’s ultimately how I’ve learned to feel more at home within myself. Can you believe that clothes and decor and diys can do that?! They can.

The elements of TCK that excite me the most are have become the staples of this space: bow boards (check out the hashtag #curatedbowboard on Instagram!), holiday room transformations (with precious pajama photo shoots of course), letter pillows, Sunday Best, ombre displays, whimsical birthday parties, and as many DIYs as my hot glue gun can take!

I have so much to share and more importantly so much to learn and I look forward to doing all of it together with you. Let’s make 2022 a magical year!
